What to expect as the People & Culture Advisor at Elastic Path?The People & Culture (P&C) Advisor at Elastic Path plays a key role in creating an exceptional employee experience. You’ll partner closely with the Senior Manager, P&C and the Corporate Performance team to design and deliver programs that help our people thrive. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll bring compassion, curiosity, and a solutions-focused mindset to everything you do. From onboarding and engagement initiatives to systems administration and benefits support, you will ensure our P&C operations run smoothly and make Elastic Path a remarkable place to work.

Location: This is a remote role based in Canada. Candidates must have valid Canadian work authorization and be located within the country. Preference will be given to candidates in the Eastern time zone to best support our distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the new hire onboarding program and offboarding processes to create a seamless experience.
  • Support and advise employees with empathy and clarity on People & Culture policies and practices.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, P&C on initiatives including DEIB, corporate communications (All Hands facilitation, company-wide updates), and employee engagement & wellness programming.
  • Manage and administer our rewards and recognition programs, including milestone anniversaries, employee awards, and our peer-recognition platform, ensuring our people feel seen and celebrated for their contributions.
  • Administer surveys and analyze results to help drive action plans and continuous improvement.
  • Administer and maintain HR systems (e.g., HRIS, Benefits, Performance Management), ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate employment verification letters and support other employee requests with speed and accuracy.
  • Conduct employee data reporting and audits to inform HR analytics and drive insights that improve programs and decision-making.
  • Collaborate to streamline HR processes and implement best practices.
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on employment law across Canada, the UK, and the US; proactively assess company policies, programs, and processes for compliance and potential risk, and recommend updates or mitigations in collaboration with leadership and legal counsel.
  • Remain curious about innovation and technology adoption within P&C; leveraging HR tools and exploring opportunities to integrate AI into everyday workflows to improve efficiency, insight, and employee experience.
  • Prepare and post job descriptions, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and maintain candidate communication, ensuring a positive experience for all applicants.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks and ensure secure, compliant handling of candidate and employee data.
  • Partner with the hiring team to represent Elastic Path’s culture and values throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, updates, and questions.
  • Assist with time management systems, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accurate tracking.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll & Benefits Advisor as needed for seamless processes.
  • Support the coordination of employee leaves and accommodations, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and a smooth return-to-work process.
  • Assist with annual performance management, goal tracking, and other P&C programs.
  • Provide support for special projects and initiatives across the People & Culture team as needed.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across teams to ensure alignment and a consistent employee experience. 

What Experience Do You Need To Be Remarkable In This Position?

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR or Business Administration
  • Professional HR certification is a plus
  • Experience with an HRIS (BambooHR an asset but not a requirement) and other HR tech stack
  • Knowledge of HR administration, recruitment processes, payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle programs
  • Solid working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance expectations
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at once
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential employee information
  • Self-sufficient and keen to take initiative, you bring with you curiosity and self-assurance
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
