The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. Then this is the position for you!
As a Programmer Developer, you’ll lead the charge in developing, supporting, and maintaining crucial computer applications and databases that power SPP’s daily operations. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation—researching, designing, and documenting systems and applications while identifying new opportunities to automate and streamline processes across departments.
Your primary focus will be on supporting Facilities and Security, ensuring the continuous top-notch performance of SPP’s physical security and surveillance systems. You’ll refine and enhance custom applications, resolve bugs, and deliver impactful system improvements that strengthen security and reliability.
In addition, you’ll serve as SPP’s Lead Atlassian Administrator, setting the strategic vision for our Atlassian suite—Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and related tools. You’ll architect solutions for complex workflows, automation requests, and integrations that empower teams and drive organizational productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance computer applications and databases supporting SPP operations.
- Lead and manage SPP’s Atlassian environment, including 23 integrated applications.
- Design and implement automated workflows and integrations that improve business efficiency.
- Support and optimize physical security and surveillance systems for continuous performance.
- Build and maintain reporting tools for resource planning, project tracking, and billing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Provide expert-level technical support and documentation for developed solutions.

To be successful as the Programmer Developer, we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience
- Lead Programmer Developer - Ten (10) years of applicable Information Technology Development/Support experience
- Senior Programmer Developer - Six (6) years of applicable Information Technology Development/Support experience
- Proven experience administering Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket required).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel macros;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred:
- Two (2) or more years applicable utility industry experience
- Data visualization experience with Tableau or Power BI
- Java, Extract Transform Load (ETL)
- Containers, Kubernetes, Docker
- Scripting experience: Powershell, Perl, Shell scripting, Python
- Web Service / REST / SOAP / WSDL / XSD Experience
- Ansible, JIRA, Bitbucket, and Jenkins Experience

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours may be required. Job requires managing staff working rotating shift schedules with long hours.
Travel Requirement:
This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
