Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. This role is based at our Sydney campus, with a hybrid working arrangement.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

This is a Build → Operate → Improve role. You will help roll out new systems, keep them running smoothly, and embed better ways of working over time.

Build and Deliver Projects

• Contribute to office fitouts, system upgrades, and rollouts across networks, AV, or security
• Configure, install, and test equipment such as Wi-Fi access points, Zoom Rooms, and access control systems
• Partner with senior engineers to deliver automation workflows and integrations
• Monitor and respond to incidents or alerts across AV, networks, and security platforms
• Troubleshoot problems and work with vendors or internal teams to resolve them
• Document fixes, playbooks, and runbooks so problems stay solved
• Suggest and implement improvements to reliability, usability, and automation
• Share learnings with the team and help others build confidence using our systems
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders so our offices run smoothly

Operate Day-To-Day

Improve And Automate

• You bring 2–5 years of experience in IT, AV, networking, or security operations.
• You love digging into complex problems and finding smart, practical solutions.
• You know your way around at least one of the following:
• Enterprise networks (Meraki or similar)
• AV and conferencing systems (Zoom Rooms, Crestron, Q-SYS, etc.)
• Security and access control (Verkada, Kisi, Openpath, Doorbird, etc.)
• Automation or workflow tools (Workato, scripting, APIs)
• You communicate clearly, whether you’re talking tech or collaborating with non-technical teams.
• You stay curious, adaptable, and ready to learn new systems fast.
• You have hands-on experience using AI in your work to drive greater impact

This role will be embedded in the Space Engineering team, supporting Canva’s rapid global growth. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about making our campuses and hubs secure, connected, and inspiring.

This is not a narrow IT support role. It is about designing, building, and operating the systems that power the physical workplace. From networks and AV to access control, intercoms, and automation, Space Engineering creates the invisible infrastructure that makes Canva offices seamless to use.
