Cleaver-Brooks, a leading manufacturer in the boiler and heating industry, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Design Engineer specializing in Heat Pumps to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing efficient and innovative heat pump systems, contributing to our commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and a passion for environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop heat pump systems, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Refrigerant cycle, Controls, Integration ,
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of new designs.
  • Conduct and oversee simulations and analysis for heat pump performance, optimizing for energy efficiency and reliability.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for heat pump systems using CAD software.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in heat pump technology and incorporate innovative features into product designs.
  • Manage projects from concept through to production, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support to the sales and customer service teams, assisting with client queries and technical challenges.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of designs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality components and materials for heat pump systems.
  • Document all phases of the design process, maintaining accurate records for future reference and compliance purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or HVAC systems.
  • Proven experience in the design and development of heat pumps or related HVAC equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigerants and refrigeration cycles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of heat pump technology, including system components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly design principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
