Summary: Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains surveillance and other non-gaming equipment.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs maintenance and repairs to the Casino’s surveillance equipment.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves camera and/or other equipment issues.
- Assists in ensuring the proper functioning of surveillance systems and related equipment.
- Installs and adjusts surveillance cameras and/or camera angles for optimum coverage.
- Provides assistance in installing conduit, raceways, and fire wall protection.
- Participates in running wires in and outside of the Casino as required.
- Work on cameras in the ceilings, on the roof and outdoor poles at heights up to 50 feet in the air.
- Responds to, identifies, and resolves system issues reported by end users.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of departmental reports, records, and documentation.
- Tracks and maintains departmental surveillance equipment/camera inventory.
- Performs and/or participates in special maintenance projects as assigned.
- Conducts regular inspections, updates, backups and performs preventative maintenance to the Casino’s surveillance equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules.

Required Knowledge Of:
- Principles and practices of CCTV equipment maintenance and repair.
- Surveillance systems and equipment relative to gaming operations.
- Equipment and tools used in the diagnosis and repair of CCTV systems.
- Maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
Required Skill In:
- Possess mechanical abilities and knowledge required to properly install system hardware and cabling
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CCTV systems and non-gaming equipment.
- Assisting in ensuring the proper functioning of CCTV systems.
- Providing troubleshooting assistance and support to system end users.
- Diagnosing and correcting mechanical, electrical, and electronic system failures.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Excel and Windows
- Ability to work and solve problems independently and without supervision, as well as be a team player
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, visually and in writing
- Ability to follow directions, practice integrity and adhere to SMC core values and beliefs
- Safely utilizing and maintaining department equipment and tools.
- Operating computer hardware and software applications.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field, and two (2) year's experience repairing and maintaining surveillance equipment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- Successful completion of the Technician II Certification test is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors And Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a gaming environment with exposure to tobacco smoke and noise.
- Work is subject to intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Work is occasionally performed in confined spaces or at heights up to 50 feet.
- Work requires occasional ladder climbing and intermittent exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Equipment And Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes specialized technical tools used in the repair and maintenance of surveillance equipment, forklifts, man lifts, personal computer, and standard office equipment.
