Position Summary
SCS is seeking interested students for its Private Client Group (PCG) Summer Internship. This internship will provide students with the opportunity to learn and participate in all facets of the asset management industry, working directly with our advisors to help support our clients. As a part of a client relationship team dedicated to serving the financial and investment needs of clients, the Client Advisor Interns will work with private client teams and support functional areas across the firm to help deliver sustained superior client service to the families that we work with.
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance may be considered early for a full-time Client Advisor position following graduation.
Primary Responsibilities
The interns will be responsible for assisting senior team members to implement and maintain clients’ investment and strategic plans. This may include:
- coordinating the account opening and administration of client portfolios
- preparing client meeting presentations
- preparing/reviewing/confirming trading and other investment activity
- monitoring portfolios against asset allocation targets
- working on ad-hoc projects
- coordinating with accountants and estate attorneys
- assisting with real-time client inquiries and requests as they arrive
Interns will also have opportunities to shadow senior members of the Private Client Group throughout the summer and listen-in on external conversations including calls and meetings with accountants, attorneys, and business managers. The internship will include educational sessions throughout the summer with the senior leadership team, a chance to receive informal mentoring and insight from leaders in wealth management.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.5
- Aptitude for learning deep intellectual concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on projects effectively
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint)
- Ability to work and commute out of SCS’s Boston office
- Team oriented mindset and propensity for partnership and collaboration
- Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
This is a non-exempt position. The hourly pay for this role is expected to be $20/hour. Actual pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.
