- Initiative Ownership: Drive large, complex technical initiatives end-to-end, from concept and design to implementation and rollout, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Maintain strong cross-functional communication and alignment with product, security, and other engineering teams to ensure our platform meets broad organizational needs.
- Developer Experience (DevEx): Design and implement best-in-class CI/CD pipelines with a relentless focus on improving the DevEx and accelerating feature delivery.
- Mentorship & Growth: Accelerate the team's growth by providing expert mentorship, technical guidance, and upskilling opportunities for mid-level and senior engineers.
- Knowledge Sharing & Change Management: Conduct regular knowledge sharing sessions across the wider engineering organization. Drive technical change management to ensure successful adoption of new platform patterns and practices.
What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)
- Cloud Engineering Expertise: Strong experience with cloud engineering, particularly within GCP and/or AWS, focusing on large-scale, high-availability, and cost-optimized infrastructure.
- Container Orchestration: Expert-level proficiency in Kubernetes architecture, administration, security, and networking.
- Release & Deployment: Deep expertise in modern release engineering practices and tooling, including Helm and declarative GitOps tools like ArgoCD.
- Observability: Strong knowledge of observability best practices, tooling (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger), and defining actionable metrics using golden signals, SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions, particularly with Terraform or similar tools.
- System Design: Proven track record of designing, building, and operating highly distributed and reliable systems at scale.
