If so, GSG is looking for you! We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Data team to support corporate and public affairs projects with our Insights team. Working alongside a highly accomplished team in a fast-paced environment, our Senior Associate, Data will work on public affairs, market research, and corporate reputation projects. Qualified candidates must have proven experience contributing to quantitative research projects from beginning to end. Candidate must have experience working for a research firm/institute conducting fieldwork, including programming online surveys, managing quotas and processing data. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and enjoy driving projects forward every step of the way.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and collecting data needed to construct online and multi-modal survey quota targets
- Programming and testing online surveys
- Building audience models to ensure we are accurately targeting and weighting survey audiences
- Pull, prepare, and manage stratified samples for phone and text-to-web surveys
- Overseeing fieldwork for online, text-to-web, and phone surveys including quota management and panel providers coordination
- Weighting and processing survey data to produce toplines and crosstabs
- Working with scripts and workflows that automate repeated data process tasks
- Conducting background research to support methodological decisions
- Ensuring all survey data deliverables are accurate, high-quality, and meet project standards and goals
- Working closely with fielding vendors and key sellers to manage fielding process including assessing feasibility and developing pricing
Qualifications
- Experience programming surveys in platforms such as Decipher or Qualtrics
- Experience with a programming language, such as Python, SQL, R, or C#
- Experience with large individual-level datasets, such as voter files, survey data, or consumer databases, as well as public data sources such as the Census, is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- 2–4 years of experience working for a research firm/institute conducting fieldwork, including programming online surveys, managing quotas and processing data
- High interest in survey research
- High comfort level with quantitative data and analysis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent project management skills, as well as a proven ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments and work independently
- The flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies
- Be extremely detail-oriented
- Have experience and comfort working with numbers and large datasets
- Be a motivated, responsible self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
- Comfortable with technology and learning new programs/systems
- Statistics coursework/background and knowledge of survey methodology and research
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
