Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial close/reporting and meeting deadlines throughout the financial year. The role is also responsible for the legal entity and consolidated statutory reporting and audit assistance of EMEA legal entities. This role requires a great level of attention to detail and understanding of the general accepted accounting policies across UK, EU and US.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare various journal entries including payroll, accruals etc.
- Prepare accounts reconciliations using Blackline software program
- Prepare flux analysis for month end closing, providing rationale for material variances
- Prepare statutory financial statements including footnotes, and compliant local GAAP to Stat Trial Balance bridges
- Prepare the consolidation of legal entities in accordance with FRS 102
- Liaise with auditors to plan and execute audits and ensure audits are progressing as efficiently as possible
- Liaise with local accounting firms to ensure timely preparation and filing of financial statements and other reports
- Liaise with corporate, revenue, and legal teams to ensure accurate accounting & support audit requests
- Liaise with FP&A teams assisting in preparation of budgets/forecasts, and variance analysis; and other functional teams, such as Tax, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Leasing, Legal, Commercial etc. to ensure that the statutory legal entity position is properly reflected in the accounting systems
- Document respective process areas to enhance audit documentation & cross training opportunities
- Develop, oversee and manage ad hoc projects, as required
What We Are Looking For:
- An Accounting degree and professional accounting qualification (i.e. CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting/audit/financial reporting
- Experience working with statutory audit & filing in EMEA entities (UK, Germany, France, Poland Netherlands etc).
- Experience with US GAAP, FRS/IFRS
- Experience in an audit firm is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, working knowledge of NetSuite Experience with Alteryx or automating processes is a plus
- Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and focused on quality
- Ability to work using own initiative and to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to effectively manage own workload, and work within given timescales (both internal and external), to meet monthly deadlines and goals as well as managing several time-sensitive activities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with internal staff at all levels of the business
- Adaptability and problem-solving capability
- Ability to identify and help drive process improvement initiatives
