Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.

In this role, you will report to a Director, Product Management

  • Lead the product lifecycle for tools and platforms enabling the scalable creation, management, and utilization of synthetic and augmented datasets, leveraging AI to boost quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Agentic AI capabilities into our tools, making them more proactive, intelligent, and supportive for our users.
  • Partner deeply with simulator users to understand their pain points and co-develop solutions that address their needs for event disposition, feature development, and evaluation workflows.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure simulator capabilities and tooling are adaptable to support high-level international compliance and regulatory requirements.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with at least 2+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of owning and launching complex technical products.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive product strategy for developer tools, APIs, or large-scale platforms.
  • Deep user empathy and experience in translating user needs and pain points into clear product requirements and impactful solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of software development workflows and experience working closely with engineering teams.

We Prefer:

  • Experience with simulation systems, robotics, or autonomous vehicle technology.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience in building AI-powered features into products, bonus for experience with LLMs or Agentic AI.
  • Experience in designing and improving developer tools, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of data generation, data augmentation, or synthetic data techniques.
  • Experience working on products with internationalization or regulatory compliance considerations.
