Overview:
We are seeking a Head of Engineering Operations to drive operational excellence and scalability across our global engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for building and evolving the systems, practices, and culture that enable our teams to
deliver high-quality products at speed, while maintaining engagement and effectiveness during a period of growth and innovation.
You’ll partner closely with senior engineering and product leaders to strengthen collaboration, streamline delivery, and ensure teams are accountable to high standards of execution and impact. This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a strategic mindset, operational rigor, and a passion for empowering teams to do their best work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Delivery Excellence: Establish frameworks for planning, tracking, and delivering products with predictability and quality. Define and maintain success metrics such as cycle time, release frequency, quality defect rate, and team engagement.
- Hold Teams to High Standards: Define, communicate, and enforce high standards for engineering delivery, quality, and team performance, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Scale Engineering Ops: Develop and mature processes, tooling, and practices that scale with the growth of our engineering organization and product portfolio.
- Technical Evolution: Partner with engineering leadership to address tech debt, track plans for scale, reliability, security, and ensure teams have the tools, automation, and observability needed to deliver effectively.
- Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and Design to improve team effectiveness, accelerate decision-making, and enhance cross-functional alignment.
- Improve Team Engagement & Effectiveness: Champion initiatives that support team health, engagement, and retention. Partner with People teams to ensure managers and engineers are set up for success.
- Strengthen Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong operating rhythms across Product, Engineering, and Design and adjacent functions to enhance collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
- Operational Leadership: Own the cadence of planning, reviews, and retrospectives across the engineering org. Ensure teams are working on the right priorities at the right time.

- Clear accountability through defined metrics and dashboards visible across the organization.
- Strengthened cross-functional collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Design.
- Increased predictability in product delivery (improved on-time commitments, reduced delays).
- Faster release cadence with maintained or improved product quality.
- High engagement scores, lower attrition, and improved team health.
- Scalable processes and toolchains that support the company’s next phase of growth.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering operations, program management, or engineering leadership roles in SaaS or high-growth technology companies.
- Proven success scaling engineering operations in a company that has experienced rapid product and organizational growth.
- Experience driving end-to-end SDLC maturity, tooling improvements, and automation that improve team velocity and faster delivery.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile practices, and product delivery at scale.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to drive change across senior stakeholders.
- Experience building and tracking metrics that drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Base Salary Range: $240,548.00 - $285,500. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board. In addition, 6sense provides a variety of benefits, including generous health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO). #Li-remote
