Summary

Develops, coordinates, and implements all sales functions associated with selling compounded thermoplastic materials within the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic territory

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develops sales strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity.
  • Secures orders from existing and potential Customers by means of visiting the Customer facility or contacting by phone.
  • Obtains Customer specifications and secures opportunities to quote on Customer requirements.
  • Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to Customers.
  • Establishes professional Customer/Vendor relationships with appropriate Customer personnel (Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Management, other key personnel).
  • Places Customer orders and sample requests with Customer Service.
  • Assists Product Development staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Attends Customer molding trials as required.
  • Submits monthly activity/call reports concerning Customer-related activities for quote, orders, and problems concerning customer relationships.
  • Provides timely response to Customer inquiries, problems and complaints to ensure Customer satisfaction.
  • Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Engineering, or equivalent,
  • Minimum of 5 years technical marketing, engineering, or sales experience within the plastics industry.
  • Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, and between company locations
  • Outside sales experience and/or Product development experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, well organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and achieve profitable sales in highly competitive markets.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools
