Our Ways of Working

Babylist thrives as a remote-first company, with HQ team members located across the U.S. and Canada. We meet in person twice a year—once as a company and once by department to strengthen the relationships that power our work. We show up consistently, stay purpose-driven, and achieve results —together, from anywhere.

What the Role Is

As an EDI Specialist at Babylist, you’ll ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our electronic data interchange (EDI) processes across our fulfillment centers, third-party logistics partners (3PLs), and vendor network. You’ll manage daily transaction flows, troubleshoot issues, and partner closely with internal teams and external partners to support Babylist’s growing fulfillment operations. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, and Finance teams while maintaining direct relationships with Vendors and 3PLs to ensure business continuity and operational excellence. This is a mid–senior level role for someone who can operate independently, bring subject matter expertise, and help raise the bar for how we manage EDI at scale.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: At least 4-6 years of hands-on EDI experience in ecommerce, retail, or 3PL environments, with strong knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT), communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, VAN, API), and transaction sets (850 PO, 855 PO Acknowledgement, 856 ASN, 810 Invoice, 940 Warehouse Shipping Order, and 997 Functional Acknowledgement.)
  • Systems-Oriented: Proficient with EDI translation software, integration platforms, and middleware (e.g., Logicbroker, SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, Cleo, DiCentral); skilled with ERP and OMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP); familiarity with WMS platforms is helpful (HighJump/Körber a plus)
  • Supply Chain Savvy: Deep understanding of order-to-cash processes, routing guide compliance, fulfillment operations, and how EDI transactions flow through procurement, sales, distribution, warehouse management, and logistics
  • Analytical: Strong ability to identify patterns, spot discrepancies, and resolve root causes in transactional data
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Anticipates risks and works to build processes that reduce errors and increase reliability over time
  • Clear Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build strong working relationships with internal teams, vendors, and 3PLs
  • Independent but Collaborative: Comfortable working with minimal oversight while keeping stakeholders aligned and escalating when necessary. Proven ability to manage EDI implementations, vendor onboarding projects, and trading partner certifications from initiation through go-live
  • Continuous Improver: Excited to recommend and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities, and best practices to scale operations and reduce manual work
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple EDI relationships, track onboarding progress, and maintain accurate documentation
  • AI-Forward: Comfortable with AI playing a meaningful role in how you work, create, and scale electronic data interchange processes

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Own End-to-End EDI Operations: Manage all inbound and outbound EDI transactions (vendor purchase orders, drop-ship orders, ASNs, invoices, inventory feeds) to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance across Babylist's ecosystem
  • Troubleshoot Effectively: Investigate and resolve transaction errors or discrepancies, providing clear updates to stakeholders throughout the process, and quickly resolve to ensure business continuity
  • Support Partner Integrations: Lead or assist with onboarding and testing for new vendors, drop-ship partners, 3PLs, and fulfillment center integrations. Project manage EDI-related initiatives such as new 3PL transitions, vendor consolidations, system migrations, and scaling efforts to increase EDI adoption across the vendor base
  • Maintain Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including SOPs, EDI maps, partner requirements, onboarding guides, process flows and workflows to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Order Management, Finance, Merchandising, and Engineering teams to support seamless business operations and resolve integration issues. Educate internal stakeholders on EDI processes, capabilities, and limitations to improve cross-functional understanding and efficiency.
  • Drive Improvements: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce EDI error rates, improve transaction speed and reliability, and implement scalable solutions that support business growth
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a trusted point of contact for EDI-related questions, advising internal and external partners on best practices
