The Opportunity:

I. Job Summary

As the Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Head of Developer Experience, you will lead the evolution of our engineering ecosystem—empowering developers to build, deliver, and innovate faster and smarter.

This player-coach role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering excellence. You’ll own and optimize our core developer toolchain while driving AI adoption (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Appfire Flow), lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and partner with L&D to ensure a world-class onboarding and continuous learning experience. You’ll measure and enhance developer experience and productivity using data-driven insights and best-in-class practices from engineering productivity and developer relations disciplines.

III. Essential Job Functions

Developer Experience & Engineering Productivity:

  • Lead strategy, governance, and continuous improvement for key developer tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Appfire Flow) to streamline the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
  • Define and track metrics for developer productivity, satisfaction, and flow efficiency using frameworks like DORA, SPACE, and Accelerate.
  • Champion automation, standardization, and simplification across engineering practices and environments.
  • Drive initiatives to remove friction from the developer journey—from onboarding to daily workflows.

Ai & Innovation Enablement:

  • Partner with teams to embed AI into developer workflows and software delivery, leveraging tools for code generation, documentation, and testing.
  • Pilot new AI capabilities and assess their impact on developer efficiency and quality.

Site Reliability Engineering (Sre) Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor the SRE team to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Foster a blameless culture of continuous learning and proactive incident prevention.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed reliability and observability into the development process.

Learning, Onboarding & Growth:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with Ensemble Learning & Development (L&D) to co-design and deliver high-value onboarding and career growth programs for engineers.
  • Establish a culture of mentorship, continuous learning, and professional development.

Engineering Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Promote best practices in code quality and delivery across all engineering teams.

Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in software engineering or applicable technology experience
  • Preferred Revenue cycle or HIS experience
  • This position pays between $122,900 to 184,350 based on experience
