The Opportunity

Aritzia is growing and our Digital Technology team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for building and maintaining resilient, scalable technology platforms that meet and exceed the vision and mission of the business. As a member of the Digital Technology department, you will play a key role in driving the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of our Digital Technology infrastructure supporting Digital Commerce, Performance Marketing and Customer Data. You will work closely with product squads and engineering teams to establish SRE practices, define reliability targets, and ensure our systems maintain optimal uptime, performance, and scalability. You will champion automation and observability initiatives across Digital Technology, building self-healing systems and comprehensive monitoring solutions that proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers. You’ll provide L2 technical support for production issues using monitoring tools, logging systems, and incident response procedures to quickly diagnose and triage critical issues while maintaining system stability. You’ll also serve as a technical leader and mentor to the Digital Service Delivery Team and collaborate with development teams to embed reliability practices into the software development lifecycle – fostering a culture of operational excellence and shared ownership of system reliability. The Role

As the Lead, Site Reliability Engineering, you will:

  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
  • Establish, implement, and evolve reliability practices and architectures that ensure system resilience, scalability, and performance
  • Drive automation initiatives that reduce toil, improve efficiency, and enable self-healing systems
  • Build comprehensive observability platforms that provide deep system insights and enable proactive issue detection
  • Ensure systems scale efficiently while optimizing infrastructure costs and resource utilization
  • Provide technical leadership while fostering a culture of reliability across the organization

The Qualifications

The Lead, Site Reliability Engineering has proven skills, certifications, education and/or experience in:

  • Analytical thinking
  • Understanding of how to trigger API requests through Postman
  • Interest in automation
  • Customer service mindset
  • Strong understanding of data formats (e.g., xml and JSON)
  • Familiarity with logging systems (Datadog)
  • Familiarity with incident response procedures (ServiceNow, Pagerduty)
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and triage critical issues while maintaining system stability
  • Strong background in software engineering or full-stack development
  • Proficiency in multiple programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with modern observability tools and standards (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, ELK)
  • Strong understanding of alerting strategies, telemetry pipelines, and distributed tracing
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, microservices)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The Compensation

The typical hiring range for this position is $170,000–$200,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
