Overview
As a Graduate Technical Publications Development Specialist, you will support the creation, review, and maintenance of technical publications for the CH47 Chinook Air System Document Set. You will work closely with experienced specialists and the Publications Lead to ensure documentation meets contract requirements and regulatory standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in aviation and gain exposure to special technical publications projects that support innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing, reviewing, and editing technical publications including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and Engineering Maintenance Manuals (EMM).
- Support the workflow function of MoD F765 (Unsatisfactory Feature Reporting) to the Technical Publication team.
- Understand and learn to apply Simplified Technical English and ASD S1000D standards in document authoring.
- Participate in internal reviews, contributing to quality assurance and first-time quality delivery.
- Help maintain document configuration, data files, and archives in line with quality management system requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design organizations, and international stakeholders to gather and analyze customer requirements.
- Support special technical publications projects aimed at improving documentation processes, tools, or content quality.
What We’re Looking For
- A recent graduate with a degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and a passion for technical accuracy.
- An eagerness to learn and develop expertise in aviation technical publications and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Basic understanding or interest in aircraft maintenance procedures and support engineering principles.
- Willingness to engage in special projects that drive innovation in technical publications.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Interest or experience in rotary wing aircraft or military aviation.
- Understanding of MoD F765 processes or equivalent quality management systems.
- Experience working with international teams or design organizations.
