Role And Responsibilities
Overview:
Samsung Electronics America is seeking a skilled and experienced Manager, Inbound Management. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in developing a strategy and vision for the to-be organization. Our ideal leader balances strategic and operational experience, brings innovation and process orientation at large scales, and demonstrates an entrepreneurial approach to evaluating and solving business processes and challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a department, national account or major business process within the distribution cycle. Make business related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature. Decisions on matters that have moderate to significant impact on business operations, financial results, and customer/vendor relationships.
- Manage and measure logistics processes including; shipping, warehouse, carrier activity, and damaged products claims identifying exceptional or high-cost deviations and making procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines.
- Analyze logistics data, identifying and predicting deviations from process, and making procedural changes to take advantage of increased opportunity for efficiency or correct inefficiencies within the logistics systems.
- Build innovation around transloading by mixed load planning to expand dynamic supply chain flexibility to ship purchase orders direct to customers.
- Develop roadmaps to drive system improvements for better operational control of the supply chain to enhance forecasting, planning, and execution.
- Implement cost optimization strategies to manage logistics cost associated with transload centers, balancing cost reduction, sales target achievement, and warehouse receiving.
- Ensure on-time delivery to customers with zero demurrage and detention through proactive planning and execution.
- Enforce zero-damage policy with the transload centers to satisfactory of full quantity delivery.
- Analyze past historical inefficiencies and conclude on the responsibilities to future proof and seek financial recovery.
- Inbound shipment tracking and delivery from overseas manufacturing to local distribution and warehousing facilities.
- Coordinate and execute special project, aligning resources and timelines for successful completion. Coordinate and manage indirect reports and 4PL, 3PL service providers to ensure smooth execution of logistics plans based on contract terms.
- Utilize expert supply chain operations knowledge to identify and anticipate unlikely problems within the delivery cycle, ensuring uninterrupted execution.
- Lead and manage team members, providing guidance, support and performance management to achieve departmental goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment and effective execution
- Complete all other duties as assigned, supporting overall logistics planning and execution
Skills And Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (In Business, Supply Chain or Logistics) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel, SAP, WMS, TMS, YMS, and ERP.
- Domestic and international business travel may be required up to 30% of the time.
- Has the scope of authority to make changes to process to meet departmental objectives.
- The ability to develop, read, prepare, interpret, and understand product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and thorough preparation of transportation documents.
- Resolves problems of moderate to large scope where analysis of data requires the identification of obscure or undefined factors and decisions have significant impact on business performance.
- Exercises judgment and makes decisions on business situations outside established procedures and approves exceptional cases.
- Prior leadership executing strategies to improve efficiencies by optimizing performance and expense.
- Experience in working with a global company and logistics.
- Experience in consumer electronics and/or home appliances.

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in NYC/California, is expected to be between $126,000 and $155,500. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
