What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney’s Line Maintenance Services in Dallas, Texas is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor (M3).  The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the overall daily supervision of a team of mechanics and technicians performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on jet engines on our newly created second shift. The supervisor ensures that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and company regulations. The role involves managing work schedules, resources, quality control, personnel issues, and significant financial and administrative oversight.

This position is based at the Dallas TX MRO facility reporting directly to the LMS Operations Team Leader.   The person in this role will supervise FAA safety-sensitive employees. 

Typical working hours are 2:00PM – 10:30PM, Monday – Friday.  Training is available and may be required on our first shift for up to 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance management: Provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and address employee relations issues as needed.
  • Manage workflow: Coordinate and monitor maintenance projects to ensure deadlines are met and workflow remains efficient.
  • Quality assurance: Understand appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures. Demonstrate required knowledge of PW LMS Quality Procedures, as well as FAA/EASA Part 145 requirements and procedures. Act in accordance with the site’s Integrated Repair Station and Quality Control Manual and other applicable regulations.  Ensure all maintenance and overhaul procedures comply with aviation regulations, such as FAA requirements. Conduct inspections and spot-checks of work performed to ensure the highest standards of quality and airworthiness are maintained.    
  • Technical guidance: Provide hands-on assistance and technical expertise for complex repair procedures.
  • Record-keeping: Verify that all work packages, logbook entries, and maintenance records are accurately and completely documented for compliance and traceability.
  • Approve labor vouchers: Review and approve technicians logged hours, ensuring they are accurately allocated to specific work orders and projects.  Monitor and report on labor costs for each job to assist in customer billing and project budget management.
  • Manage time and attendance: Monitor daily attendance, track and approve time-off requests, and manage overtime to ensure adequate staffing levels and compliance with company policies.
  • Verify expense reports: Review and approve expense reports submitted by technicians for work-related purchases, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policy.
  • Resource allocation: Coordinate the optimum use of manpower, equipment, and shop space to support maintenance schedules.
  • Parts Management: Work Material Planning Team chain teams to ensure parts are marshaled and available to support build schedule.
  • Tooling management: Ensure the proper maintenance of all shop equipment and tooling.
  • Safety protocols: Enforce all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure a clean, orderly work environment.  Document and report all mechanical incidents and safety issues, participate in investigation and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supervise technicians: Manage, train, and mentor a team of aircraft mechanics and engine technicians.
  • Assign tasks: Distribute work orders and schedule maintenance tasks based on operational needs and technician qualifications.
  • Review operations metrics: Take appropriate actions and work with the team to ensure customers’ expectations are met.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
  • 2+ years of Operations Leadership experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Holds previous GTF, V2500, PW4000 experience and international field experience.  This knowledge includes Line maintenance, engine changes, module removal & installation, and/or LRU removals and installations.
  • Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license.
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP material ordering systems.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
