Are you ready to take the next big step in your hospitality career?  Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is currently looking for a talented and dynamic Full-Time Accounting Generalist who shares our passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do! The Accounting Generalist is a central member of the Finance Team and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Finance.

This is a full-time on-site position at the Finance office located at 60 Yorkville Avenue.

What You Will Bring:

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of the office. A good working knowledge of all IT systems such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required. Working knowledge of Birchstreet / SUN Accounting System is preferred. Previous experience working with hospitality systems such as OPERA PMS is an asset. Applicants must also have a high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and a can-do approach to any task are essential!

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure correct classification of all revenue, including miscellaneous and accounts payable related revenue.
  • Review Banquet checks against Catering orders for accuracy of preparation.
  • Prepare and input month-end documents for general ledger processing including revenue journal, cash receipts journal and reclassification journal.
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain communications with the night audit and review night audit work daily for accuracy.
  • Work with accounts payable and purchasing team to match and verify invoices, delivery slips to purchase order comparing prices, quantities ordered, received and billed.
  • Prepare manual and weekly vendor payment runs, get appropriate signatures, and file all back-up.
  • Review month end statements and correctly match invoices to statement details.
  • Answer internal and external telephones and record messages accurately.
  • Ensure general cashier reconciliations are completed on a daily basis. Bank reconciliation on vendor and general cashier payments.
  • Responsible for training cash-handling associates and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Reconcile and issue weekly gratuities to F&B Outlets and Spa.
  • Updating weekly food & beverage cost reports.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills:

  • Minimum one year experience in the hospitality industry or related work.
  • Diploma or Degree with a focus in Finance or Accounting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with guests and colleagues. High attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset.

Schedule & Hours:

The ideal candidate will have an open availability. Majority of hours take place on Mondays to Fridays from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with occasional overtime and weekend shift requirements based on business needs.
