Primary Purpose:
The Capex Buyer is responsible for supporting the sourcing, contracting, and supplier management processes for capital expenditure (Capex) projects across the organization. This role will execute sourcing initiatives, manage bids and contracts, and ensure that all procurement activities comply with corporate policies, delivering optimal cost, quality, and service to internal stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
- Support the implementation of sourcing strategies for Capex projects, aligned with the company’s overall procurement objectives.
- Execute RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs processes, ensuring clear scope definition, bid analysis, and supplier selection.
- Conduct cost analyses (TCO – Total Cost of Ownership) to support purchasing decisions and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Manage contract administration activities including renewals, compliance, and documentation of legal and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project needs and timelines, ensuring timely and compliant procurement execution.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships through performance monitoring, scorecards, and regular business reviews.
- Participate in the evaluation and negotiation of commercial terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost and service improvements.
- Support the preparation of spend analyses and reports to identify savings opportunities.
- Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement and standardization initiatives across Capex procurement processes.
- Ensure adherence to all procurement policies, guidelines, and audit requirements.
How You Will Do It:
- Apply strategic sourcing principles, including spend analysis and category management, to identify improvement areas.
- Partner effectively with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align on Capex requirements.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate supplier proposals and risks.
- Show agility and a results-driven mindset to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate assertively with suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Actively support continuous improvement initiatives led by the Capex Procurement Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, or related fields (IMA, IIA, IC, Architecture).
- Business Administration or International Business graduates may also be considered if experienced in the categories mentioned.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in Capex, Facilities, Construction (Civil, Mechanical, Pneumatic), or HVAC categories.
- Experience in contract administration, legal and insurance requirements management, and supplier compliance.
- Hands-on experience with RFP/RFI processes, bid comparison matrices, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
- Knowledge of PMO or project management methodologies is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SAP and e-sourcing tools.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
