As part of a major expansion of its research programs, the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track francophone position.

The Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in our CRPO-recognized Counselling Psychology concentration for this program offered in French. We are seeking a scholar with a strong research profile in any area of counselling, counselling psychology, career counselling, vocational guidance, or other related fields.
The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Counselling, Counselling Psychology or in the field of career and guidance counseling. Registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) would be considered an asset. Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct and disseminate high-quality research, with a strong record (or clear potential) of peer-reviewed publications and success in securing external funding.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students in French in counselling psychology.
- Teach courses in French within the Counselling Psychology concentration.
- Contribute actively to the Faculty of Education and the University of Ottawa community.
- Demonstrate potential for significant scholarly impact in the field of Counselling Psychology.
The functions of a member of the academic faculty include, in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities in the form of research, artistic or literacy creation, or professional work; c) academic service activities; and d) supervision of graduate students.
Terms: New tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor may be considered for exceptional candidates with a strong record of accomplishments.
Wage: Salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).

Passive knowledge of English is a requirement for tenure. French-English bilingualism is an asset.
