Summary:
This position is for an Internship/Co-Op involving support of TRUMPF Photonics Diode Laser Mechanical Engineering group. This position will be working with engineers in the development group in production support and development setups.
Internship duration is January 2026 - June 2026 we are asking students to work at least 25-30 hours per week.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities:
- Support designers in various projects related to production support and development setups, failure analysis, design, etc.
- Projects will be defined in an area that matches candidates experience from semiconductor fabrication, packaging, electronics and testing, optics and fixture design.
- Support production and ramp up of new products and production processes
- Use 3D CAD to design and implement work standards, small fixtures and processes and help picking equipment
- Run thermal simulations with Solid Works Flow works, iterate and analyze results and use thermal imaging for verification.
Education/Requirements:
- Student in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Physical Sciences
- Exposure to clean room fabrication, SolidWorks, electronics and/or robotics is a plus
- Good communication skills and creativity are essential
- Analytic skills and thoroughness required
- Fluent communication in English (oral and writing)
