The role of a Functional Leader 

Our Product Development (PD) functional teams are critical to our success, providing engineering expertise through all aspects of the product life cycle from concept to production. As a leader and part of the leadership group in PD, you’re a role model for your team to work collaboratively with Chief Engineers, Procurement and our Manufacturing sites around the world to provide core knowledge for our product. 

Ensuring your specific functional team has the right capability and expertise to deliver innovative design projects for the next generation of F&P appliances, this includes ongoing coaching, development and workforce planning required to keep us at the top of our game now and into the future. This is a critical role in our business; to be successful here you must be passionate about developing a high performing team and delivering premium Refrigeration product to our customers.  

In a nutshell, you are the person who:

• Owns the specialist knowledge (re-use & creation of new)
• Leads your team to deliver projects
• Develops your people towards becoming an expert workforce along the way through the work.

Our Ideal Applicant

To be successful in this role, leading our specialist Ice and Water Refrigeration team in Auckland, you’ll need strong technical skills in design engineering as well as team leadership.  You’ll need excellent problem-solving insight, along with an appreciation for good planning and systems.  Relevant product development expertise is essential.
