OVERVIEW
A dynamic and visionary leader accountable for driving enterprise-wide transformation through strategic execution, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is responsible for translating corporate strategy into actionable programs, overseeing a multi-year transformation portfolio, and embedding performance and change management practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, orchestrating delivery across business units, aligning talent and resources to strategic priorities, and ensuring measurable value realization. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic acumen, program leadership, and the ability to foster enterprise-wide alignment and accountability.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1) Strategic Leadership
- Translate enterprise strategy into a clear, multi-tier framework for execution and governance.
- Synthesize strategic inputs into prioritized initiatives, investment cases, and a living strategy that is continuously updated to reflect market, regulatory, and business realities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and consultant to the executive leadership team, shaping strategic options, scenario plans, and decision-ready recommendations.
- Design and deliver multi-channel communications to create awareness, alignment, and visibility of the transformation strategy across the organization.
2) Program and Portfolio Management
- Lead the design, sequencing, and delivery of a comprehensive, multi-year transformation program spanning regions and business units.
- Own the enterprise transformation portfolio including project prioritization, consolidated roadmaps, dependency management, and resource allocation.
- Define and embed consistent program management standards, tooling, governance, and best practices to ensure predictable delivery and benefits realization.
3) Process Optimization and Performance Management
- Oversee the development, monitoring, and reporting of operational goals and core business processes.
- Design and maintain performance accountability frameworks including KPIs, dashboards, and balanced scorecards that translate performance into strategic insight.
- Produce executive-level communications that convert technical and functional concepts into business-relevant language for senior leaders and the Board.
4) Resource Planning & Delivery Orchestration
- Coordinate cross-functional resource planning, capture required skills and capacity, and work with resource managers to secure assignments.
- Define and enforce program management standards, templates, tooling, and best practices to ensure consistent delivery and transparent reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison for portfolio sponsors, PMO teams, and central functions to align expectations and remove systemic impediments.
5) Change Leadership and Organizational Readiness
- Integrate change management practices across strategic initiatives, partnering with Organizational Change Management to design engagement, training, and adoption plans.
- Own development and distribution of strategy-related communications for internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption, momentum, and transparency.
- Build networks of transformation champions and embed mechanisms for continuous feedback and iterative improvement.
6) Cross-Functional Partnership and Talent Alignment
- Collaborate with Technology, Human Resources, Risk, Operations, and business unit leaders to align technology investments, talent programs, and operating models with strategic objectives.
- Influence enterprise hiring, upskilling, and role design efforts to ensure the organization has the capabilities required for the future state.
- Promote a culture of cross-functional accountability and shared ownership for transformation outcomes.
7) Outcome Measurement and Continuous Value Realization
- Define and operationalize KPIs and benefit realization plans to measure operational efficiency, cost savings, risk reduction, revenue impact, and customer outcomes.
- Implement continuous assessment processes that quantify the impact of changes and re-prioritize the portfolio based on realized value and emerging risk.
- Ensure benefits are tracked to financial and operational reporting where applicable and that lessons learned inform future initiatives.
Success Measures
- Delivery of transformation initiatives on schedule, on budget, and to agreed benefit targets.
- Measurable improvements in key performance metrics.
- High stakeholder adoption and engagement as measured by change readiness and employee sentiment.
- Clear linkage between transformation activities and improved organizational performance, resilience, and strategic positioning.
- Clear, trusted enterprise dashboard in use by leaders, with timely and accurate KPI reporting.
- Improved resource utilization and reduced execution delays caused by competing priorities or unclear intake.
Experience & Education
Required:
- 10+ years of program and portfolio management experience in complex, matrixed, or global organizations.
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven track record in leading transformation in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Exceptional stakeholder influence and executive presence.
- Deep expertise in strategy execution, digital transformation, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to define enterprise KPIs, build executive dashboards, and translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder influence, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
- Strong analytical capability, with comfortable use of business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and MS Excel.
Bachelor’S Degree.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree
- Industry experience in insurance finance, actuarial, investment, risk and/or administration processes.
- High rate of benefits realization with documented validation and attribution to portfolio initiatives.
- Positive stakeholder satisfaction scores and demonstrated improvements in PM capability across the organization.

Compensation Range:
$294,100.00 - $443,167.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
