About Hiscox Uk

Hiscox UK is a leading brand in the insurance market, recognised as setting the standards others try to emulate. We consistently deliver strong growth and exceptional returns, recruiting only the very best and empowering them to deliver. We are known for insuring the homes of the rich and famous through to the most innovative technology companies. Our customers are diverse and unique and are only united by our ability to provide specialist insurance tailored to their needs.

About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and business-savvy Automation Business Partner to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving intelligent automation initiatives across Hiscox. This role will act as a bridge between business units, Continuous Improvement (CI) leads, and the Intelligent Automation squad to identify, shape, and deliver impactful automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and broker/customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identify Automation Opportunities - Proactively engage with business units, operational excellence teams, Hiscox colleagues, customers and brokers to assess, and validate opportunities for automation and digital process improvement.
  • Define and Prioritise Requirements - Translate business needs into clear, actionable automation requirements. Prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Partner with Change and Automation Teams - Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the automation delivery team. Support the end-to-end lifecycle of automation projects—from ideation and design through to testing, deployment, and post-implementation review.
  • Support Solution Design - Contribute to the design of automation solutions by providing business context, process insights, and user requirements. Ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive Benefits Realisation - Monitor and measure the impact of automation initiatives. Ensure that expected benefits (e.g., efficiency gains, error reduction, improved customer experience) are tracked, reported, and realized.
  • Champion a Culture of Continuous Improvement - Promote automation as a key enabler of operational excellence. Encourage innovation and experimentation, and support teams in adopting new ways of working.
  • Facilitate Knowledge Sharing - Maintain regular communication with business units to share updates on automation strategy, upcoming changes, lessons learned, and success stories.
  • Risk and Compliance Awareness - Ensure automation initiatives comply with internal controls, data protection regulations, and industry standards. Work with risk and compliance teams to assess and mitigate potential risks.
  • Training and Change Readiness - Support change management efforts by helping teams prepare for automation rollouts. Provide input into training materials and user guides, and assist in onboarding business users to new tools and processes.
  • Market and Technology Awareness - Stay informed about emerging automation technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Identify opportunities to enhance the automation toolkit and recommend new tools or approaches where appropriate.
  • Key Performance Indicators (Kpis):

Improved speed of response across quote, decline, renewal, and policy servicing processes

Reduction in end-to-end processing time

Decrease in manual touchpoints and rework

Lower frequency of missed or delayed customer callbacks
