Job Description
The Automation and Observability team is made up of several experts who assist the global process manager in designing, creating, and maintaining the company's IT services.
By leading the company's IT team, the IT Services Manager strives to develop a reliable service and improve the existing infrastructure. IT Services Managers are responsible for maintaining a high level of quality in the management of the company's IT services and for anticipating and resolving potential problems, whether they concern the company's IT systems or those of a customer. Infrastructure monitoring, task automation, server asset and network inventory management, change planning, incident, problem, and request management, and CMDB functions are essential services that teams rely heavily on. The ITSM team serves as a bridge between IT and the business to coordinate and ensure predictability of operations. The team will include experts focusing on the essential services defined by the manager, with the goal of providing quality services using various platforms to develop efficiency and consistent results.
Responsibilities
The Automation and Observability Technician has broad responsibilities related to the deployment of processes and associated services. This includes:
- Participating in the design, implementation, management, integration, and support (levels 2 and 3) of a 24/7 server and network monitoring platform;
- Maintaining, upgrading, and designing solutions to facilitate integrations between different system platforms, including: Workload Automation AE (Autosys), Linux/Windows: Scripting and Basic commands, Jira, Ansible, PowerBI, MS Office;
- Write documentation of standards and guidelines for regional deployment and use of tools;
- Manage relationships with external technology vendors to evaluate new products, escalate issues, and represent IT production in a unified manner to these vendors;
- Evaluate current methods, software, and architectures to propose and implement appropriate processes and tools, with the aim of improving—automating and securing—the activities of OS engineering and service delivery teams in the context of day-to-day operations;
- Participate in compliance audits and reviews to ensure that the team remains compliant with bank standards and to remedy any non-compliance. Ensure compliance with all related policies.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the sector, in roles related to technology supervision;
- Basic knowledge of networking;
- Proficiency in SQL and database concepts;
- Familiarity with Python and/or other scripting tools;
- System administration – In-depth knowledge and demonstrable practical experience with Windows and Unix systems;
Fluency in French and English, as the position requires communication with teams and clients located outside Quebec.
