Our Newest Opportunity:

The Director, Financial Planning will serve as the division’s subject matter expert and technical resource for financial

planning. This individual will support advisors across Wealth teams by providing expertise in complex client situations,

working across multiple planning platforms, and enhancing the use of planning tools. The Director will also lead

advisor education, facilitate study groups that promote peer-to-peer collaboration, and help strengthen advisor

capacity. In addition, the Director will play a strategic role in evaluating and streamlining financial planning processes

and systems to ensure that local advisors have the tools, training, and capacity needed to drive growth and deliver

efficient, scalable planning services. This role is designed to enable growth, improve client service delivery, and set the

foundation for a future advanced planning desk and differentiated client offerings.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise and Advisor Support

· Serve as the primary resource for advisors with advanced planning questions, ensuring high-quality

client advice in complex tax, estate, and risk situations.

· Provide direct support for advisors and with clients on unique financial planning cases.

Education and Knowledge Leadership

· Lead ongoing advisor education on financial planning updates, including tax law changes, regulatory

shifts, and emerging strategies.

· Curate and deliver timely updates, articles, and training resources to improve tactical advice

Delivery.

· Facilitate continuing education ensuring advisors remain informed and capable.

Planning Tools and Technology

· Own the effective use and adoption of planning software (e.g., MoneyGuidePro, EMoney, Holistplan,

and other platforms in use).

· Partner with platform engagement teams to ensure tools are integrated into practice workflows and

aligned with a unified “OneDigital Way.”

· Develop strategies that help advisors and their teams progressively adopt and apply planning

technology in a consistent, scalable manner across the organization.

· Train and coach advisors on how to apply planning technology in client interactions and share best

practices that support efficiency and consistency.

Community Building and Collaboration

· Design, launch, and manage advisor study groups, ensuring accountability and consistent peer-to-

Peer Engagement.

· Support practice leaders in knowledge-sharing forums that build stronger field connections and

model a unified “OneDigital Way” of planning collaboration.

  • Foster a culture of shared learning where best practices in planning, tools, and client service are exchanged and refined collectively. Strategic Development and Planning Strategy
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of an advanced planning desk, expanding expertise in tax, estate, and complex case design.
  • Play a key role in exploring financial planning as a fee-based service offering, helping to define and shape future client service models.
  • Evaluate and streamline financial planning systems, tools, and processes to reduce complexity and enhance scalability.
  • Align planning resources and practices with broader business objectives, ensuring that advisor capacity and client outcomes grow in tandem.
  • Support growth and capacity by enabling advisors to expand their reach and deliver more comprehensive planning services efficiently.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

· Deep technical expertise in financial planning, with the ability to quickly solve complex client

Challenges.

· Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex concepts into practical guidance for

Advisors.

  • Experience with multiple financial planning technology platforms and tools.
  • Proven ability to lead training, education, and small-group facilitation.
  • Experience evaluating and improving planning processes, systems, and tools to support efficiency

And Scalability.

· Collaborative, team-oriented mindset; respected for technical expertise and practical problem-

Solving.

Education, Training And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • CFP designation required; advanced planning designations strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or related field.
  • Experience providing technical case support to advisors and developing educational programming

Strongly Preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $125,000 to $150,000 per year

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
