We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialization. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days in-office and 2 days remotely. This role is based either at our HQ in Solon, Ohio, or in our Atlanta, GA office.

Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

The Role:

As part of our global Data Monetization initiative, we are building a trusted, scalable data aggregation environment – “The Data Factory” – to power internal innovation and external data licensing opportunities. We are seeking experienced and responsible Data Stewards to play a pivotal role in enabling this strategic capability.

The Data Steward will act as a critical interface between our internal data producers (including product managers and owners of core application platforms) and the centralized data environment. You will be responsible for safely, legally, and efficiently facilitating the flow of high-quality data into The Data Factory, ensuring it is well-governed, catalogued, and ready for operational and commercial use.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring both strong technical data sourcing skills and a deep understanding of data governance, risk, and regulatory standards.

You Will:

Data Onboarding & Sourcing

  • Partner with internal application product teams to identify, assess, and source high-value data.
  • Facilitate the safe and responsible ingestion of this data into The Data Factory, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Understand and respect data sovereignty, contractual obligations, and customer terms.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all sourced data meets governance criteria for accuracy, completeness, lineage, and permissible use.
  • Maintain evidence of compliance for audit and legal purposes.
  • Work with legal and data privacy teams to validate consent frameworks and data usage rights.

Data Catalogue & Metadata Management

  • Curate and manage the organization's data catalogue for contributed datasets.
  • Classify and tag data using standard taxonomies and business definitions.
  • Promote data discoverability and reuse across internal and external audiences.

Operational Responsiveness

  • Respond to external data consumer sample validation requests within 1 business day, ensuring correct sourcing, compliance, and data quality.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and coordinate resolution with producers and engineering teams.

Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Champion responsible data use and cultivate strong relationships across technology, legal, product, and data science teams.
  • Contribute to best practices and playbooks for data onboarding and stewardship.

You Have:

  • 5+ years experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data operations roles, ideally in a technology-led organization.
  • Proven ability to source, assess, and steward data from complex application environments.
  • Deep understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), data contracts, and data usage governance.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata management, data cataloguing tools, and data quality practices.
  • Working knowledge of data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or equivalent).
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills – especially with product managers, legal teams, and engineering.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Data sample request response time - 100% of requests fulfilled within 1 business day
  • Data catalogue completeness ≥ 95% of onboarded datasets catalogued with full metadata
  • Producer onboarding success rate ≥ 90% of target products contribute data within agreed timelines
  • Data quality threshold ≤ 5% data ingestion failures due to stewarding issues
  • Compliance audit pass rate - 100% of stewarded datasets meet legal and governance standards
