Summary:

Under the general direction of the Team Lead for Global Dossiers, and in close collaboration with team members across the broader Value Communications service line, you will play a critical role in developing scientific and medical content that helps pharmaceutical, biotech, and device companies to successfully commercialize innovative medical treatments and technologies in complex and cost-constrained global markets.

As an Assistant Director, Value Communications you would primarily be responsible for developing and reviewing content for projects (~60% of duties) for global deliverables including (but not limited to): global value dossiers (GVDs), region-/country-level submission documents (including AMCP Format and EU JCA), targeted literature reviews, HTA decision reviews, payer objection handlers, abstracts and posters for presentation, and Microsoft PowerPoint slide decks. In addition to content development, our Assistant Directors are also effective client/project managers and are typically the client’s main point of contact on a project. Other key responsibilities include responding to new business development opportunities, growing our client base, team training and mentoring, line management, and other initiatives to support growth of the global dossier team. This role offers the chance for an experienced, motivated individual to join our dynamic team of detail-orientated writers and researchers to produce high quality deliverables that are aligned with Cencora’s core mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Director, Value Communications your responsibilities might include:

  • Working as the primary medical writer to develop accurate, referenced content for global value dossiers (GVDs) and other payer-focused market access communication deliverables as required (including value stories, US AMCP Format formulary dossiers, manuscripts, abstracts, slide decks, objection handlers, landscape assessments)
  • Undertaking targeted literature searches (including familiarity with MEDLINE and EMBASE) to identify and obtain relevant source materials to inform project work across a diverse range of disease areas
  • Serving as the main client point of contact across multiple projects simultaneously, with strong communication skills to foster good client relationships while balancing internal team workloads (including effective timeline and project scope management)    
  • Working collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment to effectively delegate work, provide (and also receive) constructive feedback, and coordinate input from other Xcenda subject matter experts as required to meet project expectations and adhere to internal processes
  • Line management to support team growth and development; conducting quarterly and annual reviews and goal-setting; supporting team-building/motivation initiatives
  • Preparing for and leading client meetings (primarily via teleconference) to kick-off projects, provide status updates, and discuss client comments and feedback
  • Taking responsibility for on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, while maintaining high quality standards. Working towards independent strategic oversight of complex projects
  • Providing support for new business development opportunities as required, including background research, proposal development, and budget costings, with guidance from senior leadership

Education:

  • A postgraduate degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. in Health Economics, Pharmacy Administration, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health Policy)

Work Experience:

  • As well as the minimum educational requirement with at least 4 years of practical experience.

Skills And Knowledge:

  • Structured and well organized
  • Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, successful consulting firm, which maintains high quality standards and demands excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong work ethic Functions as a team player
  • Database management and analytical and statistical skills preferred
  • Economic modeling skills preferred
  • Medical writing skills preferred
  • Experience developing outcomes research/health economics study protocols preferred
  • Strong clinical skills preferred
  • Broad technical knowledge of outcomes research
  • Health economics preferred
