The Computer Science Department at Iona University welcomes applications for an adjunct position to teach introductory undergraduate courses on Python and Java object-oriented programming. The courses will be offered beginning in Spring 2026 and are fully in-person.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and assignments that align with course objectives and promote active learning.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and assessments to support their academic growth and development.
- Assess student learning outcomes and submit all required assessment materials as instructed by the department's assessment coordinator.
- Hold regular office hours to assist students with coursework and projects.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, PhD preferred, in Computer Science or a related field. Candidates with relevant industry experience and a passion for teaching are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment.
