Job Title:
Engineer System Simulation (Mechanical)
Job Introduction:
As a System Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for system level simulation for plant modelling of gearbox systems.
Major Responsibilities:
- Define and manage system requirements and specifications, with focus on driving performance & drivability.
- Perform sensitivity analysis for various sensors and actuators used in the Transfer case and Gearbox
- Support software department with system simulation results for concept development/improvement
- Develop system simulation model for transfer case and Gearbox using Simulink & Simscape
Knowledge And Education:
- A bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree in mechanics or a related technical field is mandatory.
Work Experience:
- At least 4-5 years of experience in system simulation and system simulation model development for transfer case or similar engineering roles.
- Experience in customer requirement elicitation and system requirement specification is required.
Skills And Competencies:
- Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape for plant modeling of mechanical and mechatronic systems.
- Experience in developing multi-domain dynamic system models (mechanical, thermal, electrical)
- Modelling of powertrain systems, especially AWD/4WD systems, transfer case, transmission system etc.
- Knowledge of control-oriented and physics-based modeling for drivetrain components
- Ability to implement parameterized and modular models for reuse and scalability.
- Interpreting vehicle test data for model correlation and calibration. Understanding of transfer case architecture, including clutch thermal modelling, gear mechanisms, and torque path.
- Knowledge of test automation and model verification techniques
- Ability to perform parameter sensitivity analysis, thermal mapping, and efficiency loss breakdown.
- Basic understanding of control system and control model integration
- Knowledge of Vector CANape is a plus
