As our new Data Center Security Manager you’ll play a central part in safeguarding our data centers and critical facilities. This is a chance to oversee and continuously improve physical security across sites that power the digital backbone of GlobalConnect and our clients!

About Your Role

As Security Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust physical security measures at our multiple data centers and supporting sites across the Nordics. From managing guarding services and access control to ensuring audit readiness and compliance with international standards, you will play a key role in enabling secure operations. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the entire organization such as data center operations, IT, security, finance, legal, leading security initiatives that balance compliance, operational excellence, and customer trust.

Your role will also include coordinating with vendors and contractors on security infrastructure installations, upgrades, and maintenance, while managing SLAs and performance metrics. You will deliver onboarding and ongoing security training for staff and contractors, ensuring consistent awareness of site security procedures and emergency protocols. Additionally, you will work closely with projects and operations teams to embed security requirements into new build-outs and retrofits, and collaborate with stakeholders on the management of fire detection and suppression systems, securing alignment across critical infrastructure operations.

Here are some examples of key responsibilities during a typical day:

  • Maintain and govern access control and access management to all data center facilities and supporting sites. Oversee authorization processes, periodic reviews, and ensure accurate access records for compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage CCTV systems and surveillance processes, responding to incidents and supporting investigations.
  • Lead third-party guarding services, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to procedures.
  • Act as the security point-of-contact for site visits, audits, and customer due diligence.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards such as ISO 27001, ISAE 3402, and GDPR.
  • Lead or support physical security incident investigations, coordinate containment and recovery actions, and implement preventive measures.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a security professional with both strategic and hands-on experience in physical and logical security. You thrive in critical infrastructure environments, balancing compliance with operational needs, and know how to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • A relevant education potentially within Security Management, Risk Management, or experience from related fields where you have acquired practical expertise.
  • 3 years of experience in physical security, ideally within critical infrastructure (e.g., data centers, energy, industrial).
  • Strong knowledge of access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience managing third-party security vendors and contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have: Familiarity with ISO 27001, ISAE 3402, GDPR, and regional legal requirements; certifications such as PSP or CPP; and experience supporting external audits and customer assessments.
