Chief Information Officer

Job Summary:

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) oversees the organization’s information technology (IT) strategy and infrastructure, managing IT systems, data, and staff to align with business goals, drive digital transformation, and ensure cybersecurity.  In addition, the CIO has the responsibility for oversight maintenance and support of departmental based information systems.  The CIO has responsibility for the security of information throughout the organization, including HIPAA Compliance.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field required. Masters degree or MBA desirable.

1. Experience: Requires a minimum of eight years in information systems, procedure analysis, and/or health information management, of which four years should be in a position of managerial responsibility.  At least two years of experience in a hospital environment with experience in developing information systems strategic plans required.  Experience with hardware, software, systems and vendors used by the hospital are desirable.  Background in clinical data management, retention, and security required.  Working knowledge for developing electronic medical record and systems related to clinical coding, prospective payment, quality improvement and utilization management highly desired.
