As an Engineering Manager for our Finance Automation platform, you will be a vital leader responsible for the execution, delivery, and professional development of a high-performing full-stack engineering team. You will drive the successful delivery of complex automation features, translating strategic business objectives into clear technical roadmaps and actionable sprints.
This is a people-first leadership role where you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, coaching, and performance management of your team members. You will foster a healthy, collaborative, and results-oriented team environment, ensuring engineers are engaged, growing, and contributing at their highest potential.
You will partner closely with Product Management, Principal Engineers, and Design to shape requirements, manage scope across product generations, and set realistic, aggressive timelines. Your focus will be on optimizing team processes and removing systemic impediments to ensure predictable, high-quality, and on-time delivery.

- Delivery Excellence: Oversee the full software development lifecycle from strategic planning through deployment, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable features are delivered on schedule for our Finance Automation platform.
- Process & Execution: Implement and refine effective Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) to maximize team efficiency, predictability, and velocity. Drive continuous improvement in delivery metrics.
- Technical & Architectural Governance: Collaborate with Principal Engineers and the Architecture team to ensure the team’s designs and implementations adhere to Redwood’s long-term technical standards, best practices, and non-functional requirements (scalability, security, performance).
- Recruiting & Organisational Scaling: Partner with recruiting to actively source, interview, and hire top engineering talent, setting a high bar for technical excellence. Contribute to organisational structure and team scaling decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact for your team, leading alignment across Product, Design, Customer Success, and other engineering teams to ensure project success.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify technical, delivery, and personnel risks, developing and executing complex mitigation strategies that protect the roadmap.
You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and contribute to the broader engineering leadership group, helping to evolve our department-wide strategies and culture.
