About The Job

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of multiple platforms supporting Global Engineering and other Red Hat departments. In this role, you will build custom services, enhance vendor functionalities, and enable cross-platform data tracking. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to create solutions that improve productivity and visibility across our global engineering portfolio. Your work will directly support automation, tooling, and data insights, driving efficiency and customer success.

What You'Ll Do

  • Collaborate with a globally dispersed team on initiatives and development for applications used within Global Engineering.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom integration services for platforms such as internal applications and external applications such as , Git, Smartsheet, SFDC, Workday, Slack, and Google tools.
  • Enhance and customize vendor applications, including Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain AI- and automation-driven solutions that enhance engineering efficiency, minimize manual effort, and facilitate data-driven decision-making across global engineering.
  •  Familiarity with REST APIs, both consuming data from endpoints exposed by other applications and developing new ones
  • Gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver tools for improved project tracking and reporting in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Work directly with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and tools, applying them to improve our ecosystem.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in Groovy and Django considered a plus.
  • Ability to work  in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with major frontend frameworks, preferably React.  Familiarity with REST APIs, both consuming data from endpoints exposed by other applications and developing new ones
  • - Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes a plus
  • Solid experience with REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems such as Git.
  • Hands-on experience with RDBMS and writing raw SQL queries, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Experience integrating tools and platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, SFDC, Smartsheet, Workday, Slack, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile teams as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Experience with full-stack design, architecture, development, and deployment.
  • Experience in technical team leadership and mentoring.
  • Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

The salary range for this position is $116,270.00 - $191,840.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
