We are seeking a highly skilled Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead the vision and mission of GCPHN by supporting and implementing effective strategies to provide high-level communications, media, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities to support corporate and project objectives and other public health initiatives; to enhance the company's public image and to foster engagement with stakeholders.

About The Role
- As the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will lead strategic communications, media, marketing, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to support the vision of building a world-class health system for the Gold Coast. This role is pivotal in enhancing the organisation’s public image, fostering meaningful partnerships, and driving engagement across diverse stakeholder groups. You will oversee the development and execution of multi-channel communication strategies, manage advisory councils, coordinate impactful events, and guide a high-performing team to deliver innovative and effective engagement outcomes aligned with corporate and public health objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Strategic Communications - Develop and implement multichannel communication strategies aligned with organisational priorities and public health initiatives.
- Manage Media and Marketing Activities - Oversee media relations, promotional campaigns, and content creation to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Drive Stakeholder Engagement - Provide leadership for stakeholder engagement programs and advisory councils, ensuring meaningful participation and feedback.
- Coordinate Events and Education - Lead planning and delivery of external events, workforce development, and training aligned with health system needs.
- Oversee Internal Communications - Guide internal messaging, newsletters, and staff engagement to foster a cohesive organisational culture.
- Ensure Quality and Continuous Improvement - Monitor performance, evaluate engagement activities, and implement improvements based on feedback and best practices.
- Manage Communication Resources - Supervise the production of publications, reports, and strategic documents to ensure consistency and quality.
- Lead and Develop the Team - Coach and manage a diverse communications and engagement team to deliver high-impact outcomes.
- Maintain Stakeholder Systems - Oversee CRM and stakeholder data management to support strategic engagement and reporting.
- Support Organisational Strategy - Collaborate with senior leadership to align communications and engagement efforts with broader strategic goals.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or relevant discipline and/or substantive (minimum of five years) demonstrated experience in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations.
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing, managing and motivating a high-performing team through clearly defined role expectations, monitoring performance, providing timely and constructive feedback and facilitating employee development, ensuring staff are effectively deployed through effective workforce planning practices.
- Demonstrated management skills and the ability to lead, coach and develop a team and take on challenging tasks and projects, ensuring effective outcomes are delivered within required timeframes/budget expectations.
- Demonstrated success in delivering contemporary communications and engagement strategy across multiple channels, including marketing campaigns and promotional activities to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Strong, confident communication skills with demonstrated ability to positively engage and develop influential relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including internal staff, partners, service providers and the wider community.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with a high level of proficiency in content writing to a high standard, including for complex and sensitive matters.
- Highly developed media management skills and experience in briefing staff, subject matter experts and leadership for interviews.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and manage emerging issues and risks and develop appropriate strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and manage budgets.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and digital newsletter tools, client databases and online research tools.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within Content Management System (CMS) and Client Relationship Management (CRM) system administration, in particular Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience in primary health care or related field.
