Hardie Grant Media (HGM) is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to provide best-in-class accounting and reporting services to the Hardie Grant Media agency network. You’ll get to work across a group of agencies as part of the network that together are striving to become Australia’s most loved independent marketing network. This role is a key member of the finance team, and critical to ensuring all our financial reporting is completed on time and accurately.

About The Role

As our Management Accountant, you’ll report directly into HGM’s Finance Manager, working together to drive process innovation and timely reporting to Managing Directors across the agency network. You’ll be completing all routing monthly management accounts and finance operational processes in the day-to-day, as well as collaborating on wider change management projects to improve our financial operations as a network.

Hardie Grant Media is an independent marketing network made for today. Encompassing a group of five agencies, we can address the full spectrum of problems the modern marketer faces, often working collaboratively as multi-agency teams to provide unique solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, management reports and commentary for divisions within the HGM team

✅ Prepare Group Reports and commentary for Hardie Grant Media Pty Ltd

✅ Liaising with agency leads on revenue and expense information

✅ Prepare and lodge BAS returns as required

✅ Prepare annual income tax schedules for HGM

✅ Act as a main point of contact with external auditors and respond to audit queries for HGM

✅ Ad hoc accounting and tax assistance as required

✅ Liaising with agency leads, prepare annual budgets and rolling/quarterly forecasts for the HGM network

✅ Provide finance and analytical support to the finance manager and agency leads, as required

✅ Throughout key relationships and interactions use influence to ensure actions are mindful and make a positive impact on critical social and public issues – such as sustainability, accessibility and inclusion.

✅ Consider sustainability across every aspect of the finance function.

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate will have strong analytical, time management, organisational, and communication skills and a proactive and positive approach to solving problems independently.

In Addition, You Will Have:

🔹 A Degree qualification in accounting/commerce (or similar)

🔹 2-3 years of relevant experience (Tax, Audit or Management Accountant)

🔹 Working towards, or completed, CA or CPA accreditation

🔹 Well-developed Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills; and

🔹 Experience using Sage Intacct and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to other finance systems.

🔹 A proven ‘go-getter’ attitude, and someone who likes to ‘see it and sort it’ when problems arise, whether that be through small innovations or larger projects.
