About The Role

We're looking for a Manager, Actuarial, to join our Claims Data Analytics Team (CDAT), who will play a key role in the support of our profitability. The size and scope of our team will allow you to work on good diversity of projects. Join CDAT to support claims strategic decisions focused on customer experience, operational excellence and financial performance!

The proposed role is in the Special Projects stream, covering several key priorities. The team is responsible for accelerating our exploration of gen AI use cases, overarching claims-wide large projects with close collaboration with Claims Ops & Planning and the lab – including the digital roadmap and the upcoming telephony ecosystem upgrade.  

What You'Ll Do Here:

  • Participate to the achievement of our objectives around employee engagement, indemnity control & improved customer experience.
  • Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by actuarial analysts to improve the results of the claims operations.
  • Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of members of their group to achieve the strategic objectives of the company.
  • Manage their team’s activities by organizing, planning, and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning.
  • Manage and provide technical advice to the members of their group responsible for actuarial work and studies
  • Represent the CDAT actuarial department in workshops and committees and act as a point of contact with various stakeholders
  • Act as advisor in order to help the claims operations make data-driven decisions on how to keep a better control on indemnity, gain efficiencies in the operations, and improve the customer experience.

What you bring to the table:

  • University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Job-specific designation: Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years including 2 years of coaching (major asset).
  • Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
  • Lead with vision and values.
  • Development of strategic working relationships.
  • Coaching and development of others, foster engagement.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
