The position will coordinate the work of library faculty and staff to prepare and migrate data from the current library system platform (EBSCO FOLIO and EBSCO Discovery Service). The Project Manager will also serve as the primary point of contact with Ex Libris, coordinate communication, schedule and lead meetings, maintain project timelines, and keep the project moving to ensure completion of all necessary tasks for Go Live date of July 1, 2026. This is a temporary position, located in Martin, TN, 40 hours a week, and does not provide benefits.
- Leads and coordinates activities related to the implementation of Alma and Primo Discovery
- Works with the Dean of the Paul Meek Library to ensure that institutional staff resources are available to assist with the project
- Manages internal and external communications about the status and priorities of the project
- Keeps the project moving and on track
- Helps to mitigate project risks
- Acts as primary point of contact with the Ex Libris project manager
- Ensure that Ex Libris systems and EBSCO systems are prepared for the data extraction/migration
- Arranges access to data and the necessary space allocation required for data extraction/migration
- Coordinates the library implementation team in determining and reviewing migration and configuration settings
- Prepares, schedules, and trains library staff in a timely manner to meet expectations for Go Live date (est. July 1, 2026)
- Attend and lead project meetings
- Review and update project plans
- Manage and oversee the testing processes and provide feedback to library and Ex Libris participants
- Set and communicate relevant priorities with the Ex Libris project manager
- Develop and maintain project portfolio management processes, tools, job aids, and communications, including the following:
- Project-related documents (e.g., templates, aids, tools, reports, charts, etc.)
- Project repository and project archive
- Project communications and documentation of decision-making

Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Ability to work well with customers, team members, and external entities with varying levels of technical and project management expertise
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and planning skills, with keen attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to lead meetings effectively, think analytically, problem-solve effectively, lead a team, foster collaboration and teamwork, and plan work and set priorities, both independently and in conjunction with a supervisor -- a high level of accountability
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of library system platforms, catalogs, and/or discovery layer software
- Knowledge of enterprise systems in higher education, particularly for the exchange/authentication of patron information, interchange of purchase and invoice data, and other required data exchange functions
REQUIRED LEVEL/TYPE OF EXPERIENCE AND/OR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- At least one year's experience working in an IT/technical environment
- Experience with MS Office applications (esp. Word, Excel, Teams)
- Demonstrated experience with strong written and verbal communication
PREFERRED LEVEL/TYPE OF EXPERIENCE AND/OR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in scheduling and leading group meetings
- Experience with setting workplans and priorities, and in meeting deadlines
- Experience leading others to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with software systems used in a higher education setting
- Familiarity with software systems used in an academic library setting
Minimum salary of $24.00/hr., paid monthly, based on education and experience. This is a temporary position ending September 11, 2026.
