Where the team fits in 

Content & Growth is the storytelling division of REA Group, with teams working across breaking news, guides and advice, content marketing, video, social, economics and PR. We keep Australians informed about the property market using the most reliable data and insights to communicate the stories that matter.

What the role is all about 

This role works with our in-house and contributor news team as well as our economic and data analytics team to create outstanding commercial property editorial, which helps consumers make smart decisions, keeps the industry informed of relevant issues, and grows digital content audiences.

• Lead the creation of compelling commercial property journalism across realcommercial.com.au
• Write news stories and ensure all content published is timely and accurate
• Commission editorial and manage relationships with external contributors
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders
• Represent realcommercial.com.au at industry events and act as a spokesperson
• Harness key audience levers to grow the digital content audience   
• Co-ordinate, sub edit and build in-house and external contributor copy
• Lead the development of commercial news eDMs and omnichannel marketing activity
• Maintain and develop the content calendar and WIP documents   
• Curate content on-site, App, and Apple News channels
• Upload and manage delivery of content through our CMS

Who we’re looking for 

As the Commercial Property Editor, we need someone who is passionate about the industry and can generate ideas for editorial and data-led content that is not only on point for our brand but is engaging and resonates with our property-savvy audience.

• 10+ years of experience in editorial content production
• Proven ability to shape and drive content strategy that delivers business objectives
• Strong background in news/property/economic/business reporting and editorial planning
• Ability to interpret data to tell a compelling story for consumers
• Demonstrated ability to write, commission and edit consumer-focused content that provides analysis of current market and economic conditions
• Knowledge of best practice SEO content production  
• Expertise in CMS (WordPress preferred)
• Sound project management skills. Proven ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of concepts such as website tracking, analytics and technical concepts
• Understanding of how best to engage online audiences and use the latest technologies to drive traffic
