The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Enterprise Cloud Platform Architect to join our team in Canberra, where we have a number of strategic engagements with Australian Federal Government clients.
The Senior Enterprise Cloud Platform Architect is a technical leader, acting as a bridge between portfolio management, product management and technical delivery functions. They typically own and steer the high-level technical planning for the overall Cloud platform.
The successful candidate will excel in three key areas:
- A demonstrated background in the design, implementation and management of hyperscale cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP etc), with preference given to candidates who have successfully worked within, and/or shaped multi-vendor cloud operating models;
- Ability to lead technical teams, working groups and forums across multiple domains, product types and business functions to ensure requirements capture is comprehensive and reflects the broad business needs; and
- A passion for cloud evangelism and a commitment to clearing obstacles to allow our clients to adopt at scale and deliver the agility and velocity that cloud can bring.
In this role, you will be a technical leader within a team, delivering complex cloud programs, while building strong stakeholder relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor.
You must work well in ambiguous and challenging situations and be passionate about helping clients succeed. You will ensure that the technical vision, outcomes, deliverables, approach and timescales are clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the DigiRen team builds and executes a strong plan to deliver valuable business outcomes for our clients. You must be seasoned at using data and insights to monitor performance and surface the right information to facilitate timely decision-making and drive continuous improvement in the standard of your technical advice.

Responsibilities
As an Enterprise Cloud Architect at DigiRen, you will:
- Act as the technical lead within a customer's Cloud adoption program
- Help clients define and build a roadmap of platform features in response to consumer needs, governance requirements and other demand signals
- Own key high-level Cloud platform architecture assets
- Be able to define ‘done’ for customer platform engineering teams
- Support customers to define, build and manage their internal Cloud architecture capabilities
- Contribute and lead DigiRen architecture initiatives and offerings
Requirements
- A 'Professional’ level architecture certification with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure (consideration also given to Google Cloud Platform experience and certifications)
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a technical specialist in customer-facing roles
- Minimum 2 years in a senior hyperscale architect role at an Australian enterprise or service provider
- Demonstrated experience in a senior architect role on at least one significant production enterprise application build or migration that included the use of hyperscale services
- Demonstrated experience owning and leading the creation of platform architecture constructs, such as compute, network or security architectures, for an Australian government clients and enterprises
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT services and/or consulting, with at least 5 years focused on hyperscaler platform architecture and related disciplines, ideally cloud transformation or migration projects involving AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures, modern software delivery practices (e.g. CI/CD), security, and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- A working knowledge of SAFe (Agile) techniques and Product Management frameworks is highly desirable and a key operational enabler.
- This role is based in Canberra and the successful applicant must have the ability to work on client site during business hours, 5 days per week.
- Minimum AGSVA NV1 security clearance, with very strong consideration and additional benefits given to candidates with a sponsored PV clearance.
