- Role: Education Support Officer
- Location: Lawnton
- Work Arrangement: Site-based, Part-time (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
- Salary: Educational Services Award Level 3

About The Role
As an Education Support Officer (ESO), you will play a vital role in partnering with the teaching team to support students in achieving their full potential. This position involves working closely with students in Years 10–12* (*subject to individual school requirements) to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Provide tailored support to student learning in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings under the guidance of classroom teachers.
- Encourage and promote a growth mindset to empower students in their educational journey.
- Model and support appropriate social and emotional development, and assist in the creation and implementation of positive behaviour support plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in line with The Salvation Army policies and relevant government legislation.
- Assist with data collection for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
What You Will Bring
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Education Support, or equivalent.
- A current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or eligibility to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience working with students disengaged from mainstream education, with the ability to motivate and re-engage them in education or training pathways.
- A strong understanding of the impact of trauma on young people.
- Experience supporting students in a Special Assistance School setting, particularly those in Years 10–12.
- Working days and hours are determined by school requirements during term time, with stand-down periods during school holidays.
