Introduction:
The Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. The Department of Oncology offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics of Medical, Hematology, Paediatric, Radiation, and Palliative Care.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate, Department of Oncology.
Responsibilities:
You Will Be Responsible To:
- provide assistance and support in organising departmental events i.e. conferences/ workshops/ courses/symposium
- providing assistance to various departmental committees
- work with other department team members and other stakeholders i.e. Food Services, Finance, Purchase etc
- organize National and International tumor boards
- develop and maintain a strategy for clinical, education, fellowship and research related information and activities in the Department of oncology
- prepare and editing documents for presentation, SPSS and publications and disseminate the same to the stakeholders
- take continuous follow-ups from the support departments for ensuring the completeness of work on time
- prepare budget sheets and maintain the GVR for grants
- take continuous follow-ups from the support departments for ensuring the completeness of work on time
- make presentations on behalf of the Department, as and when required
- play a role in research audit and maintaining files and play role in all the quality certifications (ISO, JCIA certification/accreditation) in order to align with the institutional vision/mission
- review the literature related to assigned topic
- review the case history of the identified individuals
- assist in proposal development & manuscript writing
- perform primary data collection, analyses of data and writing up results
- conduct assigned qualitative and quantitative analysis
- prepare weekly and monthly progress report
- schedule, coordinate and organize the Weekly or Monthly Tumor Boards.
Requirements:
You Should Have:
- an MBBS degree
- knowledge and experience related to research will be preferred
- knowledge and interest in the field of specialty
- demonstrated skills in data collection and analysis
- strong academic and scientific writing skills
- proficiency in use of computer applications
- good interpersonal skills and communication skills
- interested in pursuing a career in Pediatric Neuro-oncology and Public Health
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to plan and execute process improvements related to work management
- ability to handle correspondence and other assignments independently without being micromanaged
- strong interpersonal skills.
