The Software Development Environment (SDE) team translates use case and feature requirements from development teams into a state of the art SDE. It establishes and maintains Software Configuration Management practices for development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure components, tools, and systems. Due to close teamwork with experts in this demanding environment, there are many opportunities to grow you knowledge, gain experience and develop.

Responsibilities

In your team you will work as DevOps Engineer and be jointly responsible for 

• Administration, maintenance, and enhancement of a Linux based SW-build, development, and simulation environment
• Managing a continuous integration environment for teams around the globe
• Evaluation of new SDE tools and practices
• Evolution of the SDE in cooperation with Optics development sites around the world

Must Have:

• Masters Degree or Diploma in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
• Experience with SW development environments and their maintenance
• Good knowledge in Linux, e.g. file systems and the networking subsystem, and tools like Eclipse, VS Code, Git, Source Code Browsers, etc.
• Fluent in spoken and written English, Italian
• Structured, analytical, and independent style of working with an attitude to develop high quality artifacts

Nice To Have:

• Knowhow in C/C++, cmake, gcc, clang, GNU Make, and GDB
• Scripting languages such as Python, bash, and others
• Automation/Continuous Integration with Jenkins
• First professional experience is a plus
• Very good communication skills
