The Business Analyst Team Lead is responsible for leading a small team of Business Analysts while also serving as a hands-on practitioner. This role plays a key part in understanding, documenting, and translating business requirements into both existing and new enterprise applications.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the Business Analyst team, while engaging with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that enterprise applications effectively support evolving business needs.
This position will also be accountable for establishing and maturing the Business Analyst capability within the organization, driving best practices, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality business requirements across the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities
- Lead and develop the Business Analyst function within the organization.
- Deliver high-quality business requirements and documentation to support enterprise application initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to Business Analysts.
- Contribute as an active practitioner to ensure project and operational success.
- Act as a trusted advisor to both IT and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of enterprise applications with business objectives.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a small team of Business Analysts, fostering professional growth and capability development.
- Establish and evolve Business Analysis standards, methodologies, and practices within the organization.
- Serve as an escalation point for business analysis issues and ensure effective stakeholder communication.
- Actively perform business analysis work alongside the team, including requirements gathering, documentation, process mapping, and solution validation.
- Collaborate with business units to capture and prioritize requirements for enterprise applications.
- Partner with IT delivery teams and vendors to ensure that solutions align with business needs and organizational standards.
- Support both enhancements to existing systems and implementation of new enterprise applications.
- Apply analytical skills across a diverse range of enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, ITSM, and other line-of-business systems).
- Ensure alignment of requirements with enterprise architecture and IT governance frameworks.
- Promote continuous improvement in the design, configuration, and adoption of enterprise applications.
Requirements
Education & Certifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- IIBA CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis).
- Agile certifications (e.g., IIBA-AAC, CSPO, SAFe POPM)
- Platform-specific certifications or ITIL® Foundation or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.
Experience
- Approximately 10 years of progressive Business Analysis experience, with at least 2–3 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into actionable system requirements.
- Demonstrated success in leading or mentoring analysts and establishing BA practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple enterprise applications and dynamic business requirements.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational abilities to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on analysis work.
- Demonstrated capability to build trusted relationships across business and IT teams.
