Enersense Supply Operations and Procurement is on a transformation journey moving from a decentralized to a centralized procurement model within a publicly listed company environment. As Head of Project Procurement, you will lead a team of Project Procurement Managers (PPMs) as well as the Operational Purchasing team. PPMs are responsible for planning and executing procurement activities across Enersense’s diverse project portfolio. They ensure that the customer project receives professional procurement support from early bid and proposal phases through project execution enabling competitive, compliant, and high-performing project delivery. The operational purchasing team ensures efficient purchase order execution, supplier coordination and day-to-day transactional excellence.
You will work in close collaboration with business units, category teams (direct materials, subcontracting and indirect), and project management organizations to ensure that category strategies, supplier selections, and commercial decisions align with project and business objectives. You will be a member of the Supply Operations and Procurement leadership team, as well as a member of one of the Business Units’ leadership teams as a Procurement Business Partner to contribute to the joint success with the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Project Procurement team to ensure professional, value-driven procurement support across the company’s customer projects.
- Oversee project procurement planning, execution, and performance ensuring alignment between category strategies and project needs.
- Lead and develop the Project Procurement and Operational Purchasing teams to ensure professional, value-driven support across the company’s customer projects.
- Assign Project Procurement Managers to key projects based on scope, complexity, and strategic importance.
- Ensure early procurement involvement in the customer offer and tendering phase to drive competitiveness and cost transparency.
- Drive collaboration between project management, engineering, and category teams to ensure sourcing decisions support project success.
- Ensure that operational purchasing processes are efficient, compliant and support on-time delivery.
- Develop and utilize the expertise of operational buyers in competitive bidding and supplier evaluation to strengthen sourcing outcomes.
- Develop and implement standardized processes, tools, and best practices for project procurement across business units.
- Promote data-driven decision-making to improve project cost control, supplier performance, and overall efficiency.
- Ensure supplier and subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risks related to supplier performance, contractual obligations, and market conditions.
- Coach and mentor your team to continuously improve capabilities, performance, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A university degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Strong experience in project procurement or project supply management preferably within energy, infrastructure construction, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience leading procurement teams or complex project procurement portfolios (3–5 years minimum).
- Deep understanding of project lifecycles, commercial management, and contract structures.
- Ability to bridge category management and project execution translating sourcing strategies into practical project-level outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with project managers, engineering, and sales teams.
- Experience in driving sustainability, safety, and compliance within supplier networks.
- Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Finnish is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across functions.
