Join the team of bold professionals at Enersense! We are now hiring a Head of Subcontracting Procurement in Helsinki, Finland or Tallinn, Estonia.
Enersense Supply Operations and Procurement is on a transformation journey, moving from a decentralized to a centralized procurement model within a publicly listed company environment. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building something new: developing structures, capabilities, and practices that will shape how procurement creates value across the company.
You will be leading a team of category managers across a wide range of subcontracting areas, such as mechanical, construction, telecom, and electrical. Success in this role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and your procurement colleagues. You will be a member of the Supply Operations and Procurement leadership team, as well as a member of one of the Business Units’ leadership teams as a Procurement Business Partner to contribute to the joint success with the business.
Together with your team, you will lead and collaborate on category planning, strategic sourcing initiatives, driving supplier performance, and contributing to the company’s competitiveness and overall efficiency in procurement processes. You will guide and coach your team to deliver exceptional results and contribute to the company’s strategy to become a trusted lifecycle partner by delivering transparent, efficient, and sustainable solutions to our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the subcontracting category team across a wide range of categories, with end-to-end responsibility for defining category strategies, driving sourcing initiatives, managing spend, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing supplier relationships to ensure delivery and performance targets are met.
- Collaborate closely with business leaders and key stakeholders to align subcontracting strategies with operational needs and overall business objectives.
- Increase company competitiveness by fully leveraging the group’s combined volumes and synergies through enhanced sourcing, purchasing, and logistics practices and processes.
- Ensure sustainability is an integral part of strategies and execution, minimizing our own footprint and promoting more sustainable alternatives for customers.
- Develop and align common procurement processes, practices, and ways of working to improve efficiency and collaboration across procurement teams and internal stakeholders.
- Drive data-based decision-making to improve transparency, performance management, and strategic sourcing outcomes.
- Ensure close collaboration with suppliers to co-develop new solutions, practices, and ways of working that drive transparency, efficiency, effectiveness, safety, sustainability and quality.
- Ensure subcontractor safety and compliance with company standards and regulations, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the supply base.
- Manage sourcing risks and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
Requirements:
- A university degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and subcontracting within infrastructure construction, industrial or project-based environments.
- Proven success in leading category teams and managing complex supplier and subcontractor networks, 3–5 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and supplier capabilities in the Nordics and Baltics.
- A solid track record of delivering tangible business value, improving competitiveness, and optimizing total cost of ownership.
- Deep knowledge of contract management, supplier performance, and cost optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Experience driving sustainability, safety, and compliance across the supply base.
- Strong analytical mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment across functions and organizational levels.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Finnish or other languages is an asset.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to persuade and inspire.
