MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team in Fort Meade, MD. This is an onsite position supporting the Integrated Cyber Education, Development & Training (ICED-T) program at US Cyber Command. 
 

This role will lead environment (network) design, software licensing management, and delivery of M&S -including hardware/infrastructure upgrades - for USCYBERCOM J7 activities. 
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage and operate J7-owned and managed IT systems used specifically for exercise and training events
  • Provide services that enhance J7’s IT capability, can be used to refine the divisions’ processes, and support building effective partnerships
  • Provide services to develop and coordinate actions necessary to ensure network capabilities function properly and have requisite authority to operate for exercises and training events including activities that involve cyber ranges
  • Research, analyze, identify, and recommend Modeling and Simulation (M&S) solutions capable of integrating cyberspace operations training and exercise information into Joint Staff and CCMD Joint Virtual Live Constructive (JVLC) simulation capabilities (e.g., promulgation of cyberspace operations effects across physical domains in networked simulations)
  • Provide cyber-exercise-specific target services in the form of models, simulations, and laboratories (labs) to simulate exercise targets (e.g., Industrial Control Systems) supporting OPFOR, blue team activities, and training objectives
  • Assist with exercise-scenario-dependent target simulations and types, offer different levels of fidelity to provide for varying degrees of realism in target simulation, and support multiple network classification levels (i.e., Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), National Security Agency Network (NSANet)
  • Provide the following Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) services: Tier 1-2 Help Desk Services, External Range Coordination, Virtual Machine (VM) Deployment and Management, Exercise Support, Design Network Topology (Network Map), Configuration Management, External Resource Integration, Connection of external Incident Command Systems (ICS) 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience supporting DOD programs, Joint Services, or government labs
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in defense-related modeling tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE)
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • A broad technical foundation with skills in traditional networking, virtual environments and virtualization, industrial control systems, and other relevant systems
  • 1+ years of experience in conducting resource allocation, project costing, deliverable tracking, schedule and financial data monitoring, and reporting

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI w/ CI Polygraph 

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.  

The projected compensation range for this position is $162,600.00-$289,500.00.
