The Specialist II, Analytical Development will assist with the analytical development efforts of multiple projects for biological programs. The incumbent works with analysts and management to ensure the attainment of objectives in a timely manner. The Specialist II must be able to effectively communicate results and issues within the projects to colleagues, project management with the highest of professional standards.

Essential Job Duties

  • Enroll batches into nonGMP stability program, authoring protocols based on a template, obtain samples, provide schedule, review data for completeness and author summary reports based on template.
  • Familiar with USP compendial testing of biologics (appearance, pH, conductivity, osmolality, UV, subvisible particles, endotoxin)
  • Familiar with aseptic technique for bioburden and aliquoting in biosafety cabinet
  • Assist with efficient running of an active laboratory including (but not limited to) logging samples, ordering lab supplies, create material specifications.
  • Ensure that the lab functions are completed in accordance with the Company and governmental standards of safety and quality, and that all experimental documentation is complete and timely
  • Will be responsible for providing liaison communication with management and program managers.
  • Ensure that laboratory operations are conducted in a safe manner. Remain familiar with the contents of the Chemical Hygiene Plan. Follow safety rules fully
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices

Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensures

Required

·       BA/BS Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry or related field and 3 years of related               work experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Biologics drug substance or drug product                             manufacturing

Or

·       MA/MS Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry or related field and 1 year of related                 work experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Biologics drug substance or drug product                             manufacturing

Preferred

·       Direct experience in GMP Quality Control lab
