Description
Job Title: Procurement Manager
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Up to £57,000 dependent on skills and experience
What You’Ll Be Doing:
- To ensure Procurement teams are using online tools and the ERP system (SAP) in compliance with supply chain procedures and best practice
- To identify potential risks and issues and work with the wider team to find resolutions
- To provide regular progress reports against deliverables
- Delivery of all materials/services for Ship Repair in line with business KPIs and correct quality standards, with key focus on supplier performance and relationship management, working closely with the Supply Chain Platform Managers
- Establish and maintain good relationships with all key stakeholders, including customer and suppliers, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations
- Provide inputs to support the achievements of the financial objectives for orders, sales, margin and cash, contributing to the overall business Integrated Business Plan for current and future periods as required
- Continuously monitor employee resource requirements to free up resources when possible and to provide a resource plan to the Ship Repair Supply Chain Manager
- You’ll also have people manager responsibilities in this role. (Remove if no people management responsibilities are required in role)
Your Skills And Experiences:
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the business objectives
- The role requires excellent and broad Supply Chain knowledge and a breadth of business knowledge and expertise, including good business, market and competitor knowledge as well as depth of vision and creativity and an ability to contribute to the development of Supply Chain strategies to support business objectives
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the business objectives
- Commercial and contractual acumen
- Line Management experience essential

The Ship Repair Supply Chain team
To contribute to the development of the Warship Support Supply Chain function to harness opportunities for operations delivery, the function and BAE wide strategic initiatives. To provide governance for all processes associated with the supply of materials. To manage a team of procurement professionals.
